Airedale International Air Conditioning       Data Centre World & What's New
     January 2014

Dear Subscriber,

With the new year, we've plenty new to talk about and Data Centre World, 26-27 Feb 2014, provides that ideal opportunity.

Energy efficient cooling - increasing customer choice: From our latest SmartCool™ CW precision air conditioning system and TurboChill™ free cooling chiller with low global warming potential R1234ze to the AireFlow™  adiabatic air handling unit which offers huge free cooling potential, we continue to develop our range of industry-leading cooling products.

Stretching budgets with Service & Controls upgrades: The economic outlook is looking good but it will be a while before the purse strings can be loosened. As a result, our Service and Controls teams are busier than ever, upgrading existing installations in order to help customers generate valuable operational savings.

Data Centre World, 26-27 Feb 2014, London ExCel

DCW is nearly here. Why not come along to Stand C55 and see our latest precision air conditioning, InRak and OnRak IT cooling systems or talk to our experts about the latest innovations in controls technology? Alternatively, come and listen to Mark Viner, Commercial Director, providing an "Apples for apples comparison of the data centre cooling landscape" which will examine the relative merits of current and legacy data centre cooling systems from mechanical cooling through to full fresh air free cooling where PUEs of near 1.1 can be achieved, with and without adiabatic. The presentation will take place in the Facilities & Critical Equipment Conference Theatre, 10.30am Thursday, 27 Feb. An opportunity not to be missed.

University of Portsmouth OnRak cooling units

The name behind new £2.25 data centre for University of Portsmouth

The University of Portsmouth's new data centre opened at the end of 2013 and is set to bring significant energy savings, with a projected PUE level of 1.14 (load dependent). The Airedale solution provides indirect free cooling to the data centre, with direct fresh air free cooling the UPS room, delivering free cooling up to 95% of the year depending on ambient temperature.

Direct fresh air free cooling for Custodian

Our second new case study features Custodian Data Centre, winner of the Data Centre Leaders Awards 'Green' category, that delivers fresh air free cooling up to 80% of the year and regularly achieves PUE figures below 1.15. With a system using direct fresh air in a data centre cooling environment, Airedale software is also critical in ensuring temperature set point and humidity are maintained.
